Yamaguchi Hofu Tenmangu

"The first Tenmangu in Japan" dedicated to the god of study Sugawara-no-Michizane. It is counted as the great three gods along with Kitano-Tenmangu in Kyoto and Dazaifu-Tenmangu in Fukuoka.

There is a song written by Takasugi Shinsaku who worshipped Suga.

Visited by many worshippers throughout the year for new year's pray, plum festivals in the early spring and Goshinko festival which is known as one of the roughest festivals in West Japan in November.
