Hagi Camellia Festival

In the Kasayama Camellia Groves in Hagi City, some 25,000 camellia trees made up of around 60 distinct species, bloom across 10 hectares in late winter. Typically, these vibrant camellia blossoms reach their peak from mid-February to late March, when the Hagi Camellia Festival is held. Enjoy the spectacle of colorful camellia flowers on the trees, while the ground beneath is carpeted red with an enchanting display of fallen petals. On weekends and public holidays during the festival, there are free guided tours of the camellia groves and other events.
