Shingu Island

Just off the coast of Suo-Oshima Island in Yamaguchi, is a small islet accessible by a sand spit at low tide. For three hours before and after low tide, the path known as the “Angel Road” allows access to Shingu Island on foot. Visiting the islet is said to bring good luck in love. The contrast between the white sand and the cobalt sea is beautiful. The path to Shingu Island can be accessed from behind the Michi no Eki Sazanseto Towa rest stop. Check the tide table before attempting to visit the island.
