Kankakei Gorge
Kankakei is a beautiful gorge within Setonaikai National Park. It is carved into the mountainside and foothills of Mt. Hoshigajo, on the island of Shodoshima in Kagawa Prefecture. The gorge was created by volcanic activity and erosion over some two million years. See the striking rock formations and soaring cliffs from the Kankei Ropeway, which takes visitors through the gorge and up the mountainside. Hiking trails lead to interesting rock formations and lookouts with views of the island. Experience the seasons through the scenery of fresh spring greens, cooling summer foliage, rich autumn leaves, and winter snow.
