Shimada Fisheries Oyster Landing Tour

Hiroshima Bay is well-known for its oysters, and Shimada Fisheries cultivates them on rafts not far from the famous red torii gate of Itsukushima Shrine on Miyajima Island. During harvest season, you can join a tour of the oyster rafts to learn more about oyster farming and see the fishermen raise huge ropes encrusted with healthy oysters. After the tour, you can grill your own freshly harvested oysters at the Shimada Fisheries oyster hut.
