Ibukinosato Ski Resort

This ski resort in the Chugoku Mountains in northwest Okayama can get over 100 centimeters of snow in a day during the winter season. The resort also has snow machines, ensuring there is enough snow even during milder winters. The resort has courses for all levels, a kids’ park for playing and sledding, plus a snowboard park. Ibukinosato is in the city of Niimi, with access by shuttle bus (Ibuki Liner) from JR Niimi Station. The ski season typically starts around mid-December. On Saturdays, Sundays, and national holidays during the ski season, there are events and prize draws to win local specialties, including Chiyagyu Beef, and wine from Niimi.
