Tokushima Awa-katsuura Big Hina-matsuri Festival

A big Hina-matsuri Festival is held from the end February until early April at Ningyo Bunka Koryu Kaikan (Doll Cultural Exhange Hall) in Katsuura-cho, Tokushima. During the event, approximately 30,000 Hina dolls are on display in various platforms throughout the hall, including a pyramid platform featuring 100 tiers which is about 8 meters high. Visitors can also enjoy the “Hina market”, where local specialties are sold, watch performances of Awa Ningyo-joruri and Awa odori dancing, which makes this event with some 30,000 to 40,000 visitors.
