Kakuzan Park and Tsuyama Castle
Kakuzan Park is on the site of Tsuyama Castle in Tsuyama City. It is one of the best cherry blossom viewing spots in Okayama in spring when around 1,000 cherry trees bloom. The trees in the park are illuminated in the evenings during cherry blossom season. Tsuyama castle was built here in 1616, and although the buildings were demolished in the nineteenth century, its impressive stone walls remain, and the largest of its watchtowers was restored in 2005.
