Himeji Yukata Festival

The Himeji Yukata Festival heralds the arrival of summer. The festival is held over two days in June at Osakabe Shrine, near Himeji Castle. Many people wear a light cotton kimono (yukata). Those wearing a yukata can enjoy discounted or free entry to nearby facilities, including the castle. There are stalls selling snacks and local goods during the festival, and events include music performances in Jonan Park and a children’s yukata parade.
