Aioi Peron Festival

A dragon boat race on the last weekend of May heralds early summer on Aioi Bay in Hyogo Prefecture. On Saturday evening, the bay lights up with a fireworks display, followed by parades, performances, and dragon boat races on Sunday. Dragon boat racing was introduced to the area in 1922, and the festival sees dozens of teams compete throughout the day.
