Okayama Ohara Museum of Art

This private museum, which features Western art, was established by a Kurashiki businessman named Ohara Magosaburo. The museum displays well known work by artists from around the globe such as Monet, El Greco, Cézanne, Gauguin, Picasso, and Rousseau, as well as statues of Rodin's work in the main building. Japanese contemporary art is displayed in the annex, and the Craft Art Gallery and Asian Art Gallery boast craft art from Eastern Asia. The stately building is reminicant of Greek temples, and is iconic in the Kurashiki Bikan Historical Quarter.
