Yamaguchi Joei-ji Sesshu-tei Garden
A tourist attraction representing Yamaguchi, which is also known as "Kyoto of the West." It is said that the garden was established by Sesshu, a Zen Buddhist priest during the Muromachi Period who was well known as a prominent Japanese ink and wash painter. A waterfall is located on the north side of the garden, while a pond in the shape of a heart rests in the center. The garden features a typical Karesansui styled rock garden from the Muromachi Period, with garden stones lining the edges of the pond. This feature is a masterpiece of Japanese zen gardens.
