Yamaguchi Kintaikyo Bridge Festival

An annual event held at Kintaikyo Bridge on April 29 every year. Visitors should not miss the reenactment of the departure of the daimyo (lord), a requirement system during the Edo period, and the demonstration of the firing of antique matchlock at the Iwakuni clan artillery. Both the fire-guns and the gunpowder are very thrilling. People wearing samurai costumes take part in the daimyo parade to make the festival exciting. On riverbanks, a market selling antiques, toys and kimonos is also held at the same time.
